Frequently asked questions
What is a looking glass?
A looking glass lets you run network tests from our data centers, so you can see how traffic travels between our network and yours before you buy.
Which test should I use?
Use Ping for latency and packet loss, Traceroute or NextTrace to see the route, and MTR when you want both over several rounds.
How do I check the route back to me?
Choose a data center, click "Use my IP" and run Traceroute, MTR or NextTrace. The result shows the path from that data center to your network.
Why is latency shown as "—"?
Latency is measured by pinging your IP from each data center. Some networks and firewalls don't answer ping, so no value can be shown. Tests still work normally.
